You build beer towers, obviously!!

This week’s TOTW comes from batting legend:

In one day cricket, the striker should always call the run, as he only he, knows how hard the ball has been struck and at what angle. Even if the ball goes behind square and the striker has to turn to turn to see where it has gone, it is still safest for him to make the call.

Thanks for that, I’ve got to concentrate on hitting the ball now! Any ideas?!

The Kolpak ruling has been responsible for allowing the South African batsmen (who got 222* on his test match debut) was dropped by South Africa for the World Cup and was then approached by Geoffrey Boycott to play for Yorkshire. However, he has signed for 3 years as a non-overseas player which means that he can’t play for his country during this period.

HA! I bet is doing cartwheels! He has secured the future of Yorkshire’s batting crisis as well as ruling Rudolph out of Spring Bok selection for the next 3 years.

Well done Geoffrey! However, the question remains, will this Kolpak ruling be tightened up in order to rule out the possibility of abuse in the future? The domestic game is still setup to bring through English talent and that should remain the focus.

The now captain of his former county Yorkshire is possibly the best captain in the world.

His laid back approach is having a huge impact on his team mates as the results speak for themselves. His international days are well and truly over as his exclusion from the World Cup highlighted, but his county days as Yorkshire’s captain may be about to bloom!

He likes the way that the club has a more business like approach to it now, rather than in his former playing days of committees and laws and politics. He is also a huge fan of another Yorkshire great; Geoffrey Boycott who is also involved help shaping the future of the club.

When asked in a recent interview for any advice for young aspiring cricketers, he responded:	“If you’re on tour and planning on going out for a big night, always remember to take your snorkel, mask and flippers, just in case. You never know where you might end up …”

WHAT A MAN! Goughy; we salute you!

With performances like their latest scores against Sussex I don’t see why they shouldn’t. Australia, the World’s best team in all facets of the game, sideline great players up to their late 20 and early 30’s before giving them a regular place in the side.

They feel that forcing young players to have to be patient before having the chance to play for their country forces their players to mature and to savour the opportunity given to them.

I think that Moores will have half an eye on the progress of proven cricketers as well as England’s first innings this morning.
