Gareth Batty playing for Worcestershire against Nottinghamshire on Sunday 6th May (featured on Sky Sports 3) was sat in the commentary box, during the early stages of his sides innings, doing a 30 minutes stint of guest commentary with former Surrey batsmen Ian Ward.
Batty was stating his intentions to gain a place in the England setup as an all-rounder. “I’ve got to just keep getting loads of runs and wickets.”
An hour later, Batty strides out to the crease upon the departure of the Graham Hick to face Mark Ealham. He misses a straight one, and is bowled, first ball for zero! Golden Duck on his first televised game of the season. Im sure Peter Moores is taking notes Gareth!
